Acid reflux pills every day?

Does anyone else take acid reflux pills on a daily basis? I find that if I don't take them at least once towards the evening or right before bed, I wake up with acid reflux. Of course I HAVE to take them if I've PB'd or slimed that day (then I need them right away), but even if everything's been fine on a particular day, I still need them at night. Anyone else in this situation?

Yes. I am. I have been banded almost 4 years. In Dec, I started having problems with irritation around my band which was causing acid reflux. I never had any of these problems before! Well, I've been unfilled, slowly filled, slightly unfilled, and now I am good during the day (for the most part) but almost every night, I have to take a Zantac. I even do the no eating 2 hours before bed and no drinking either...pretty consistently and feels a little acidy at night. But, for now the Zantac takes care of it, so that's what I'm doing.

Yes, I've been on omeprazole for years now. I still take it every night. It must be doing something because my doc had me take an endoscope exam before my surgery and it came back clear and without any irritation. It now helps me not have reflux at night.

I have been on Nexium for a couple of years....When I went in for my surgery, my surgeon told me that I didn't have to take them anymore. I'm almost 3 wks post op and it's been pretty good without them, although once in a while I get some heartburn. Not sure if it's my normal issue or just what I ate that day or that I ate too late. I guess the true test will come after my first fill in 3 weeks.:cursing:
