Couch to 5k.....come join me!!

Ok, I tried this once before and got way to eager. I started moving quicker than designed. This time I will follow the guidelines.

If you are not familiar with a Couch to 5K, it is a plan to go from not running at all to running 5k (3.2 miles) in only 2 months. It is very doable and such a great feeling of accomplishment. I ran/walked a 5k in May and it was one of the most rewarding things I have done in many years.

Here is the link to the info.. If anyone is interested in training together just join in.

Cool Running :: The Couch-to-5K Running Plan

We will start on Monday, June 29.

Let's get ready to MOVE!!!!!!:tt2:

Past 5k race runners...

How many days before your 5k was your last run? my 5k is next saturday.. I normal Run Tuesday, Thursday, Sat and Sunday.. Is it a good idea to run next thursday?

  • 2 weeks later...

Did my 5k(my 1st 5K) this past weekend.. Went good other than I fell/tripped with about .10 miles to go  got a pretty bad case of road rash and a bruised hip/quad. But I finished in 37 mins.. about a 12 min pace.. Its a starting point.. I feel like i lost at least 2 mins on the fall, it took me a few seconds to get up and i never regained my pace.. This race was 1/2 street and 1/2 cross country though an awesome park

Running another 5k this coming weekend and then I will be running/jogging heheh a 10k at the end of the month then I think its time to just maintain

WTG! 37 min is great (even with your fall!)
