I had my 4th fill yesterday, I now have 6 cc in a 14cc band. I wasn't feeling any restriction at all, and he said to give this a week and if I don't feel anything we will do it under floro. He said that he then could watch as I drink and he would fill me to a trickle. What exactly happens when you do a fill under floro? I get the whole fill part, but is there some kind of prep to have it done this way? I just don't want to go in blind, but so far so good with this last fill.

I've had all my fills done under flouroscope. You lay on the X-ray table, they find the port and mark it then the doc injects it. It takes about 1 minute. I can't eat anything for four hours before the procedure.

I've had both of my fills under fluoro. They are always super early in the morning, so I can't eat after midnight the night before. It is pretty much the same as StLouisGal's experience. You drink some white stuff (Barium, I guess) and the doctor watches it go down. Then mine will inject the saline until the flow slows down. I've had two very aggressive fills (3.2 cc and 2.5 cc) because he can see how things go through. It gets tight, but not too tight.

I have a 14cc band and just had my 3rd fill on monday...all my fills are done under flouro. i had 1 cc in my band at surgery...my first fill was 4 cc's my 2nd and 3rd were both 2cc's...so i'm up to 9...i'm finally feeling restriction. the flouro part is real easy...you can even ask to watch if you want...my doctor always turns the monitor towards me so i can see. he's in and out and i barely feel a thing. he then has me stand up and do a barium swallow where they then watch it go through the pouch and trickle down into your stomach...he watches how fast it goes...then puts more or takes some out. my advice...if he does do the barium swallow...make sure you take a big gulp. my first fill i didn't want to drink it so i took a very small drink which then made it look like it was hardly moving so he ended up taking 1 cc out...i could have ended up with 5 had i actually made an attempt to drink the nasty stuff. so ever since i have taken a big gulp and he ends up putting a little bit more in.
