Band Buddy wanted

Hello everyone

I am looking for a "band buddy". I am a female, 28 yrs old (29 in august 08). I am 5'10" and weigh 360 lbs. I wear a size 24/26. I currently live in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. I would like to be banded in September 2008. I am currently attending seminars about Lap Band to find the best fit for me. I have been thinking about get the Lap band for almost 5 yrs now.

If anyone has any similarities and are going to be banded around the same time, drop me a line.

I've just started gathering as much information as possible for me to get banded. I am going to attend my first seminar later this month. I'm hoping to get it done in July. Later this month I'm going to ask my doctor to put in a referral for me. He already asked me about gastric bypass but I know that is not for me. Let me know how everything goes and I'll do the same for you.

I am 26 years old and live in New York. My insurance required 6 months of a supervised diet which I started on Feb 1st....(which means I will be done August 1st!!! YAY!!! I can't wait to get started!) I am doing a sleep study next week (well, the first round anyway), the Psych eval in a few weeks, and the nutritionist appointment in July so that when August 1st hits I can be ready to submit my paperwork and schedule a surgery date. So, if all goes well, I hope to be banded sometime in September at NYU Medical Center. I am 5'2'' and weigh 250ish pounds. Good luck in your journey and keep in touch!

Hi ladies!

I'm 32 and was banded at NYU when I was 28. I had a wonderful, WONDERFUL band buddy who worked at NYU named Shelley help me through the whole process. There is nothing more valuable than your support network.

I am more than happy to help in any way. I've not been a "model" band citizen, but I learned a lot and had success...and would be glad to be a cheerleader for any of you! Email or PM me if you have any questions :cursing:

This is totally the best damn thing you will EVER do for yourself :cryin: I never realized that just by losing weight I would rediscover me. I thought I always knew me, but I never even scratched the surface.

It really does improve every area of your life.

I was banded sept 2007

I also live in the cincinnati area.

If you need to ask any questions about what to expect or how it feels or anything really just ask. I am dowm 66 pounds and feel sooooo great from a size 20 to a size 14 and I am still going strong.

Christine

I can't wait! I'm so excited about my surgery date - September 4th. I have been going to all of my appointments and finding out as much as I can about the surgery. I only have a couple more appointments left until my new life begins. The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the three week long pre-op liquid diet. I'll manage though. I can't wait to be thin and healthy! :biggrin2:

Hi Hun!

I will be getting banded sept 1st. Im 5'10 and 392lbs, my goal weight is about 170...its seems far off now, but i know i WILL get there. Cant wait to start my weight loss journey! I think this is the only time im really truly happy about wanting to loose weight!! lol

Keep us posted!

Hello to the rest of the September bandsters....!!!

I'm waiting to have surgery in September because my last class is over on August 29th--getting my Masters--and so I wanted to concentrate on this. It's my present to myself.

I will be getting the lap-band surgery on September 3. I'm a little scared of the surgery, but I know the outcome will be wonderful. I can't wait to get the surgery over with and start the Journey.

Christina,

I'm scheduled for 9/3 also! Having it done here in Colorado. Yeah for us!!! We should compare notes and anxiety - ha, as time draws closer.

Who's your doctor in denver?

Christiana,

I'm going to Dr. Kirshenbaum in Aurora. How about you?

Not only are we having the surgery the same day we are using the same doctor. How cool is that.

We definitely should compare notes and be band buddys.

Christina,

Absolutely! Also, look for user name "Tally". She is from Tallahassee, and also is having surgery on "our" day with Dr. K! My consult is 8/8, and it just can not come fast enough for me. I am so tired of living in this body, and am very anxious for change.

i got a new haircut and color today, so guess I am stepping in that direction!

Hope you're having a great weekend. I'll send you a private message today.
