8 days until surgery!

I am scheduled for next Tuesday. I went for my pre-op testing today. I have been on my pre-op diet since last Tuesday. OH my....why am I doing all this????!!!:huh2: I keep asking myself that question. I have wanted to cancel the surgery 20 times today! I know it's all meant to be, and I will be ok. It's just crazy all the thoughts that go thru your head! I think the hardest thing is trying to come off diet Pepsi and coffee. But this is the new me, and the next chapter of my life:biggrin2:

Hi, Yes losing te diet coke was hard for me too but after the first few days I got more used to it. I always carry around a water bottle with plenty of Crystal Light to Go as I hate plain water. I also carry around lots of Splnda packets for restaurants to sweeten the unsweetened tea. I'm told that I may be able to drink the diet soda again after my surgery and that some people can handle it and some can't. But I'm going to try and avoid it. Just like smoking... I had to quit cold turkey and I know that. You can do it too. It's a small price to pay to be thin. Try buying different kids of diet drinks such as the ToGo packets, flavored water, diet Snapple and Diet OrangeAde in the can. I'm actually liking it (and saving money too). My surgery is in 2 days.

I am scheduled for surgery on April 22nd. I think about it alot and wonder if I am doing the right thing. I have been going thru this process since June of last year. I want it bad....but this pre-op diet has been a real test for me and I hope I am strong enough to follow the rules. I am not backing out but I am nervous about it and it is on my mind alot. I hope you do well. Keep us posted....mama59

i'm sure you're just a bit nervous, but it sounds like its the right thing for you to want to be healthy.

just remind yourself why you wanted to go on this path the first time.
