Bison Steaks

My husband and I had bison steaks last night. They were great. Tasted just like a nice steak and the nutrition can't be beat. For a 3.5 oz steak there is only 90cals and 2.4 grms of fat. A 3.5 oz skinless chicken breast has 7.4 grams of fat. Bison also has higher levels of omega3 fatty acids, Iron, antioxidants and vitimins like vitimon E. Bison also has 25% more Protein than beef.

We will be adding Bison to or weekly menu.

We buy ground "beefalo" from a man we know. He raises both, and we use the hamburger exclusively because it is SOOOOO lean, and has great taste. This is a ground buffalo meat, but they add some beef fat, to make it where it will cook without falling apart or sticking. It is dark red, and as was said the calorie difference is amazing! We love it! I buy minimally 50 pounds at a time!

We have had steaks--grill them a lot during the summer. But my DH still prefers his rib eye---which is of course much fatter meat! But we use nothing but the beefalo for burgers or tacos, anything we use ground meat in. Love it!
