I'm very happy with my doctor and his staff.

Hi Debby, I haven't had the procedure done yet, but I am planning on it if everything goes right. I did a search on the computer for lap band surgery and one of the sights gave me a list of doctors that perform the lap band procedure in my area. I hope this helped you out.

Dari from Virginia

Debby, Dr. Robert Saas in Lebanon, VA. is going to start this surgery in June. His number is 276-883-8026. I haven't had it done but I am considering it.

Hi Joyce, I was told that Dr. Saas of the ACOS in Lebanon has not performed any lap band surgeries as of this date. I was wondering where you got your information from. I seem to be getting the run around from them. One day they tell me one thing and the next day the story is different. I hope to hear back from you...Thanks Dari

I don't think he has done any yet. He is going to start doing them in June. I talked to his nurse on Tuesday and that is what she told me. He has been doing the gastric bypasses for a while. Other than that I don't know.

Happy is not a good word. I was beyond happy with my first conversation with him and his staff. They all make you feel important. No question is stupid and in fact they get pist if you do not ask questions or call them if you have problems. He has a web site just go in and type eric pinnar in the search section. We have a support class once a month and that is great.

Hey HarleyNana,

I am researching this option as well. What doctor performed your surgeries and what did you have to do to have it covered?

Della; How is your weight loss; did your insurance pay? How many fills did you have? I think only 2 is included if you pay cash. Is this true?

My insurance paid for mine in full. The doctor said last evening that you get 3 fills included with a cash payment, any fills after that are $300.00 each. I'm really new so to be honest with you I hav had 1 fill so far and lost 30lbs in 6 weeks. most of the ladies say a good fill will last 4-6 months and most people get about 3-4 in a year. There was one lady at the meeting last evening that has had 7 fills. A lot of people pay cash for the surgery and it is my understanding that the doctor's has a great payment plan. I understood that the hospital will demand payment up front.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
