How do they determine band size?

I recently found out I was given a 4 cc band. The fill nurse said the Dr.

"gave me a tiny one". What does this mean. Is a 4 cc band not the norm? How do they determine which size band you get??

The band size is determined by your surgeon at the time of your operation, based on the size of your stomach. If your band holds 4 cc, that is on the small end of the scale as there are others that can hold 10 cc and 14 cc. Check out this thread about band types/sizes.
