Hi,

I am having some trouble with diet. First I have no idea what my band fill is as I have had it only filled once. That time he put in 1cc. I did here talk about him asperating 6 first? Does that mean there are already six cc in their? I have not lost my apetitite at all and want to eat. I lost 35 pounds in the first 3 weeks of lap band as I was not able to eat anything then that just stopped I became ravenous. The first fill was two weeks ago. Just what is a restriction? Exactly how does it feel? I think maybe I am not chewing food well enough and I have to throw everything back up which leaves me with ice cream for food. Now this I know is not good. What is the proper amount of food to be consuming at one time or do you count calories? If anyone please can tell me any of this information Thanks

Teckla

Be sure to chew very well. Stay away from ice cream. If you are chewing well and taking small bites and still can't keep it down you may need an unfill. If you can't eat solids pick healthier liquids like Protein drinks or try mushy foods again like refried Beans or cottage cheese. Fish is a good soft protein too.

Restriction for me means that I can eat solid food but must chew well and take small bites. I get some discomfort if I eat too fast or don't chew well. I eat small portions and I am satisfied. My doc doesn't tell me how much I should be eating because he feels it varies for each person. I take it slow and listen to my body. I usually have a small burp when it is time to stop. Sometimes I just know that I am done.

Eating is no longer something I can do quickly and get out of the way. I must pay attention or I will suffer.
