Pcos

Well I am excited and hoping this is a new beginning for me. This is the reason I got banded in the first place to have a period and get pg on my own. I was just banded on 1/29 and have lost 18lbs. For the first time in over 2.5 years, I got a period on my own. A nice healthy heavy period. I just had a baby last May but had to do IVF to conceive him. I did lose a lot of weight with him and right after and got pg again 7 weeks later and lost to miscarriage. Well I gained a bunch of weight again (30lbs). Now I am so happy to see my period and hoping that it will contine month after month with me ovulating.

has this happened to anyone else? I want to get pregnant in August.

Thanks

Katie

Exercise exercise and exercise and eat low carb with the PCOS. I am sure you already know that . I hadnt had a period on my own in 17 years!!!!!!!!! and I lost 60 lbs started having them and 2 months later pg. I did fertility meds for my first 2 so this one is a surprise. My pcos symptoms are so much better!

I have pcos and learned I was infertile eight years ago when I got married. We did several rounds of failed infertility treatments those first few years. I am now the proud mother of three children via adoption and have still not had more than a couple of normal cycles since surgery. HOWEVER, this most recent cycle I can't even remember when I had my period except that it was light and seemed insignificant, but I found out just a few days ago that I am DEFINITELY pregnant. Still wrapping my mind around it all. I wasn't trying, but then again we have NEVER really used birth control and have not for eight years! This is a HUGE shock! I know it was the weight loss, but suspect it had more to do with the stabilization of the weight loss in the past several months....oh and I randomly started taking metformin again last month because I was hoping that would curb my carb cravings.... I hadn't taken it since I noticed my blood sugar levels had stabalized for awhle. So could have been the metformin too. Just hoping it all works out okay!

Good luck to you!!
