Sipping slowly ?

It was stressed to me that we should slowly sip our Water or whatever we're drinking at the time.

Will it hurt me (like stretch my esophagus or pouch) if I don't sip?

I thought we had to sip due to restriction but I don't have a problem taking big drinks. (not gulping) Banded on 2/1/08. I've had one fill and I think it was 1.6cc.

I think the slow sipping is just for the newly banded - maybe the first week. I drink about 80 oz of fluid a day (mostly water) and I don't sip. I have no problems with my band. Do what feels right to your body.
