IS anyone having trouble getting info from their doctors?

Hello everyone!

I have been going through all of the testing and such for my surgery, and I am having the most difficult time getting through to the doctors office. They told me about all of the insurance procedures...I followed everything. My surgery was scheduled for 3/24, and I called yesterday and they said the doctor was going on vacation......She told me that she would call me back, and never did.

I am very anxious to get this done. I am drinking the slim fast shakes and have been preparing....and now I am frustrated. Is this typical? I am scared, anxious and do not know what to expect. Please help!

Joe

Joe, both my sister and I are nurses, and we both agree that this band business in the US is one of the most frustrating, poorly run, annoying processes we have ever seen. I got my band in Mexico--no problems. 6 weeks from the initial phone call to surgery. My sister has been messing around with this since November, and still doesn't have a surgery date. I have complicatons now and do you think I can get ahold of the local doctor who has been following up? A radiologist told me that my band has slipped and I'm having chest pains--Do you think that maybe they'd return my phone calls?

Oh my gosh, I hope you are okay. This really is a nasty process. I thought it was just my doctor here in Chicago, but I see now that it is not.
