crossing my legs at long last!!

Recommended Posts

YAY I can finally cross my legs!! This has always been a goal for me!

Granted I have to shift my tush so that I am on a slant, but going in the right direction! I cant wait for the day when I can sit in a seat and cross my legs all comfy and ladylike!

Any non-band goals for you all to look forward to???

Hi Restict2008,

Funny you should mention crossing your legs. :) I've kept a small list of things I look forward to after the weight is gone.

I look forward to having a lap. It's easy to forget how convenient a lap can be.

I look forward to NOT having to scout out the largest exit possibility from a restaurant.

I can't wait to hold a clipboard and be able to rest it on my knee like skinny people, rather than this odd juggle in my arms.

I was banded a week ago tomorrow, so I've got quite a way to go. Not even feeling good at this point. But I can't wait to post with the types of progress that I see you all posting with. Good job! Keep up the good work.

I giggled when I read your post, (I haven't been banded yet) But as most of us have, I've gained and lost weight plenty of times, one of the things I liked was this one time I went to a movie theater I put my feet up on the chair with my knees to my chest so someone could pass in front of me. *Sigh.. that day will come again for me as well.. in the mean time I'll live through you and your experience.. Little milestones are great aren't they?

Congratulations!

If I sit at a tilt I can now cross my legs. It's amazing. I can't wait to just drape my leg over without forcing it. I went shopping over the weekend. I went from a 24 pants to an 18!! I even looked at swimsuits. UGH!!! I found some that held in my tummy and kept my boobs in place, but they wanted $92 for a swimsuit!!! I go to Water aerobics three times a week, and I'll use it, but I figure that at the rate I'm losing, it will be too big in two months and I will have wasted the money. I'm not paying that for a swimsuit!! I no longer grunt when I tie my shoes. I can comfortably shave my legs without contorting myself. I can shave my entire underarm. I didn't SQUEEZE into the movie theater seat yesterday. I'm loving it!

Wow, this is funny. I've also lost and gained several persons worth of weight over my life. I'm not banded yet either, and what I remember as a personal "milestone" was buying smaller underwear and finally at my goal, being able to see daylight between my thighs while standing with my feet together!!!!

I haven't be banded yet either but I can't wait to cross my legs either. My mother is english and it makes me feel unladylike because I can't. She dosen't say anything about it but I'd like to feel proper again.

My real goal is to beable to buy pretty panties instead of granny panties!!:biggrin2:

OMG, this is so awesome! Started crossing my legs about a month ago and I actually felt like I wasnt going to fall over! hahaha.

Too bad it increases occurrence of spider/varicose veins though... :-(

Awesome NSV still!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE the band!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
