Nothing tastes right anymore

I was banded on 1/28 and since then I have noticed that most foods and fluids have a nasty taste now. Everything has a bitter taste. I do have a cold with some nasal drainage so I thought that might be the problem but in the past colds haven't had this effect. Even breath mints taste nasty now. Anyone had a similar experience?

Hi Teanne, Your cold probably has SOME to do with it . but yes post op my tastes changed I remember seeing people talk about it on here and I thought it was months down the line when their tastes buds changed but it was actually Right away. When i could get on full liquids i wanted cream of potatoes Soup SO bad , i just KNEW It was going to make me full. Hubby went and got me some, tasted like CRAP ! So he got me some pudding , CRAP . Sweets like Popsicles tasted like PURE Sugar. It calms down a little. but things I enjoyed pre op I dont enjoy now.

I want some things now i did not before surgery.

So is it normal , YES LOL
