Facing up to the situation

Well, I've come to the conclusion that I really am too tight and need an unfill. I've had reflux on and off for a couple of weeks now, and can't really operate with such spotty sleep. The good news is that my doctor's office can do unfills in the office so it won't involve fluoroscopy or all the hoo-ha.

I'm going to try to set this up for Wednesday. Of course since this last fill I've now lost almost 20 lbs and I'd hate to see that slow down, but I have to be realistic. I don't want any esophageal damage and as I've said a million times, I don't want there to be ANY problems with my band so I'm going to be as cautious as I can.

OK, I've said it. Now I just have to make the phone call. :)

Norma, the cost for adjustments depends totally on your doctor's policies. In my case, it's very expensive for fills since they're done in the hospital radiology suite, but this last adjustment was done in the doctor's office. It will probably just be the cost of an office visit (my insurance covers it, so I don't know exactly).

You're lucky that your carrier will cover up to six. That's better than most!

I have United Health care and I am on the PPO+ medical plan. They are great. They have realy been there for me. They even have a 24 hour nurse line that I can call when I am having pain or diareah or whatever. They are there. My husband works for a wireless phone company and they all seem to have the same insurance. I should be more greatful. I may have come across on other replys from other sections as ungreatful. However, I am scheduled for councelling next week and hopefully it will help me enjoy this experience rather than complain.

Hey, Norma, don't worry -- it's hard to feel gratitude when you're in pain or having diarrhea.

Thanks for asking, Paula! I'm sleeping much, much better and have had no reflux at all. Ahhhhh... :)

The downside is I'm hungrier. Oh well! Knew that would happen...
