March 4 - LP Day

WOOHOO - surgery set for March 4th. My approval came pretty fast after a 6 month diet/waiting period. Now I am set. Can't wait. No pre-op diet. How about you? From what I have been reading here, I thought they were pretty much required.

I didn't have to spend a day. It was a regular Dr appt with my PCP it took maybe 1hour total. Bloodwork, EKG & Chest Xray, that's it. Painless.

On Monday I see the surgeon for a preop visit, I take a anti nasuea pill the night before that he prescribed and nothing to eat or drink after 12am. Surgery is tentatively scheduled for 1:45pm.

Good Luck!

Hi Troops! Well I did the pre/op visit yesterday...met with the surgery team and everything is a go!! All the visit entailed was an x-ray, labs, ekg...only have to do a liquid diet Monday...arrive 5:30 Tuesday morning and showtime is 7:30!! All the "what ifs" went out of my head and I am ready to go!! Good luck everyone!

Why did you get a anti nausea pill? I tend to throw up after I get anesthesia and was wondering what to do. My doctor told me he would give me something when I leave. I should have been more specific. I tend to get sick before I get home. (2 prior surgeries)

I had a little freak out yesterday and probably will have another tomorrow. My sister flys in at 5pm monday and is staying the week. God bless her!!!!

I made some soups today. I really don't like the canned stuff. Im craving an avocado. weird:confused2:

Ok- are all of you ready for tomorrow? I am. All liquids today. Everyone at work is being super supportive - they all brought food don't don't have to heat so it won't smell so good in here. I know I am blessed.

How is everyone today? Really want to hear from you if you are still up and around. I have to be at the hospital in the morning at 5:30 - my surgery is at 7:30.

I also wanted to ask - are all of you overnight stays or day surgery? When my sister did hers she was home that night. My doc requires an overnight.

Hey Texgirly....Me Too!! Liquids all day...have to be at the hospital 5:30 for 7:30 procedure!! Overnight stay only because I have a tendency to clot. Hopefuly in 30 minutes my life will be forever changed tommorrow. It's 4:00 now and my stomach is rumbling..."feed me".....Good luck and stay in touch!

yep my tummy is all gurglely. My surgery time is 10:00 I have to be at the hospital at 8:30. Im going to go have a glass of wine (clear liquid) listen to the relaxation cd and try to sleep.

Hello March 4th Banders, I'm going in at 9am and am scheduled for 10:15am. Best Wishes to all of my band brothers & sisters pre/present and post. I pray all of you have minimal pain, speedy recovery and reach your goals.

We are Marching On, CTman

I have to be at the hospital by 10am, but I am not scheduled until the afternoon. I am calm, because I know this is a good thing, the right thing to do, but am nervous about when I wake up if pain or no pain, gas or no gas.

They weighed me yesterday, 231 lbs. YEAH!!, down 7lbs.

I pray for all of us to have a perfect surgery & speedy recovery.

Best Wishes,

Hi everyone....surgery was on the 4th, stayed overnight and feel like a million bucks! No drama here....just sorry I waited so long!!
