Today was my surgery date.

Recommended Posts

I couldn't go through with it. I feel really good about my decision because I know I made the right decision at this point in my life. I may change my mind later down the road but after all the feelings and emotions I've gone through over the past week I just couldn't do it. I had a panic attack sunday and after DH and I had a long LONG conversation well into the early morning I made the decision. I cancelled everything MOnday morning. I felt like I had a huge weight lifted off of me, so I know I made the right choice.

Anyways, I just wanted to tell ya'll that and I also want to tell everyone good luck with their new life. You are all truely an inspiration to me and I look forward to coming back and checking out everyones progress! Good luck everyone!

Wow, I am sure you had your reasons, and you have to be sure before you do something elective and life changing like this surgery. I applaud your strength to do it.

If you ever need advice, or to see how we are all doing a year from now, feel free to visit here or even contact me. Everyone knows when the time is right for them and you may feel it again or maybe never. Good Luck!!:tt1:

Amber, I can't imagine how hard these past few days have been for you. It takes a lot of strength to follow what you know is the best thing for you, especially after being so invested in this process!

You will always be a member of the New Year's knockouts. You were one of the first here! And if it wasn't for you, we wouldn't have our logos! Good luck with everything and don't forget to pop in once and a while to check in and update us! Be well!

Amber, I didn't realize when I posted in another thread that you had cancelled your surgery. Again, I do understand your feelings, if I hadn't paid so much $$ for my plastic surgery, I know I would have cancelled, but now, I'm so glad I did it.

You're fortunate to have such a support team, not only your DH, but the folks here at LBT.

Hugs, you'll know when you're ready.

Hi Amber, You made the right choice for yourself. At a later date you might feel more comfortable having this surgery done. You are young and have a young family so I bet you were also giving that a lot of thought. You wouldn't be human if you weren't thinking about all the what ifs. Good luck to you. We might see you on here at a later time.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
