Preop Diet

I got approved Friday and was going to call the dr's office and find out about my preop diet.....they were already gone.....Do I need to be on liquids??? My surgery is Thursday 1/31?????

It depends. Every doctor is different with their requirments. If you need to be on a pre-op diet than you would think that the dr office would have told you. My pre-op diet consisted of 2 weeks of 2-3 protein shakes a day and 2 meals of 4 oz of protein than all the green veggies I wanted. The pre-op diet is to help shrink your liver so the dr has more room during your surgery so it certainly wouldn't hurt to be on some sort of diet but I have seen plenty of people on the message boards that didn't have to have a pre-op diet. So I guess it is really up to you.
