Hi Everyone. First of all I want to say that I have been reading all your responses in this forum and have to say that you all seem so supportive :tt1:. I think it is great because to have support from people that have been through it is priceless. I have been thinking about banding for about a year or so. I have been on EVERY weight loss program/product and have spend THOUSANDS trying to loose the weight. I am 5'4 and weigh almost 260! I cannot seem to get control of this and it is out of control. I have an appt. with the bariatric surgeon on the 22nd, the cardiologist on the 28th, the pulomonologist on the 28th and the psychologist on Feb 4th. I just received my letter from my PCP today stating that I have hypertension, new onset diabetes and hyperlipidema and that in her opinion this surgery is the best thing for me. To all of you who have traveled this road before me, does it sound like I covered all my bases? I also have BC/BS Direct access...anyone had any dealings with that Insurance co? Any help/advice would be great...do I need to attend meetings for a certain amount of time? I want to get on with my life or shall I say begin my life and have heard so many great things about being banded. Thanks:smile:
