Hey y’all! I was sleeved on 04/28 so I’m one week out, however, I’ve been having some dark brown discharge (not super heavy) but it started 2-3 days post op. I’m wondering if it’s surgery related which would be weird right ? But I had my period 4/19 so wondering if it’s just delayed discharge from that. Pretty much wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

In saying that, you store estrogen in your fat & as you lose weight it is released into your bloodstream. So it’s not unusual for women to experience heavier or lighter, or more or less frequent periods, more or fewer PMT symptoms like mood swings & emotional highs & lows after surgery. It seems to persist until your weight loss starts to slow or you’ve lost more than half the weight you were hoping to. Your spotting could be related to that but do check with your doctor.

I was told that some women will pass some blood after WLS. If it continues, I'd get it checked out. I passed a large blood clot a couple days post-op, and it freaked me out. After that... nothing. It's usually residual.
