Boullion Cubes and high sodium

I am about 3 weeks prior to surgery (Jan. 8) and I've been trying to limit my intake to mostly liquids. As I was getting some hot water in to drop some Chicken boullion cubes in, I noticed that although they are low in calories, they are very high in sodium. Something like 1100 mgs! Should I be concerned by the high levels of sodium?

i dont know they tell you to eat chicken broth and beef broth too while on post op liquid phase. i havent had problems. and i have lost 29 pounds. there main concern while your on liquid phase is sugar free, fat free

My doc actually did require low sodium for the pre-op.

Sodium swells up the liver he said.

To be safe I would get the low-sodium versions (they are next to the normal in the store).

Its not something I would choose to drink due to the high sodium content. I avoid canned soups too for exactly that reason, I have them occasionally but generally I make soup from scratch.

I bought Low Sodium Boullion, it was on the same shelf as the regular, it cost a little more...
