Only 9 pounds almost 4 weeks post op

I'm feeling worried,. I'm not getting all my protein in or water. I'm getting like 50 ounces of water in and 50 to 60 protein in. And not losing weight. I can't walk much I need a new hip and back surgery. I feel like I am failing.. sad for me

Don't freak out. Seriously, it will be okay. If you look up "three week stall" on BariatricPal, you will find almost 20,000 posts about it. It happens a LOT. And it's nothing you're doing wrong—it is

Try using protein water. It’s not the greatest, but will help you get your fluid and protein at the same time. Bone broth with protein powder is a good option too. When my protein is low for the day,

  • I’m having the same worry! Monday will be 4 weeks for me (RNY on 11/22), and right now I’ve only lost 11 pounds since surgery. I have no problem getting enough protein — 60-90g, right from the start —

. I know my weight loss will be less dramatic than someone who had a higher starting BMI, but I wonder if I’m on track.

You are perfectly on track. Don't rush the process. The surgery is a tool but not an instant fix. And there will be a stall in Week 3 or 4, everybody gets it, so don't think you're getting too many calories or have done something wrong. Trust the process and take it slowly.

Had a weight loss stall for 3 weeks at 3 weeks post op. Prior to stall in first 2 weeks I lost 25lbs and to date I’ve only lost 35lbs total. Getting worried. After the stall only lost a total of 4lbs and this week only 1lb , I would hate to have gone threw all this not to successfully loose weight!
FRUSTRATED

Everybody and I mean EVERYBODY hits the infamous Week 3 (sometimes Week 4) Stall and yes it can last several weeks but it's perfectly normal. While frustrating, it's to be expected. Just keep doing what you're supposed to be doing, getting in the protein and the water, and the weight loss will come. I promise.

Here it is almost 3 months for me and it seems like I’ve hit a stall again! I barely eat and having issues with hydration. This is becoming really frustrating just at about 40lbs. Since surgery on the 8th of Nov. but now no weight loss for a week. My level of frustration is UNEXPLAINABLE
