Almost 3 weeks out.. am I doing something wrong?

Recommended Posts

I had the gastric bypass on Oct 12. Ive lost 10lbs since then & havent lost anymore. I feel like I might be doing something wrong? I’ve read so much about people not meeting Protein goals due to feeling full/restriction, which I dont feel.
I’m currently able to eat 3-4oz meals & I feel like maybe its too much? Like I shouldnt be able to eat so much, so soon after surgery. I’m eating slowly, taking time between each bite & I wait the 30 mns after my meal to drink Water. However, I don’t feel any restriction and I don’t feel full(I dont feel hungry either, but I eat to reach my protein goals). Should I be able to eat this much so soon out of surgery? Am I eating too much & that’s why I haven't lost any more weight? Is there something I should do differently?

*I was cleared to eat eggs, flaky fish, & tuna. & I eat every 3-4hrs, & once I meet my protein goal, I focus on my water & don’t eat more. For reference

it's the infamous three week stall. Happens to about 90% of us. If you do a search on this site for the "three week stall" (it's so common it even has a name), you'll find over 17,000 posts on it. And no, I am NOT kidding.

just stick to your plan and stay off the scale. And know that it'll eventually break and you'll be on your way again. It typically lasts 1-3 weeks.

Catwoman is right. You are in the dreaded 3 week stall. It is incredibly frustrating because you went through all of the work for surgery and then ... nothing.

I lost 24 pounds in the first 2 weeks.

I lost 6 pounds over the next 18 days.

Lost 36 pounds in the last 44 days.

For the next 2 weeks, either don't step on the scale or step on it expecting no weight loss. Go only by what you feel (energy levels, etc.) and if your clothes start to fit better.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
