Honestly, I don’t mean to disappoint you but I don’t think they should do lapband surgeries any more. I had mine done 11 years ago. I lost about thirty pounds, my body adjusted to the lower calorie in take and I stopped losing. I was throwing up most of my meals because food kept getting stuck so how I managed to regain the weight is beyond me. Today I am exactly the same weight I was when I had my surgery. My diet during this time has been (on and off) low carb, (only thing that came close to working for me), combined with walking and kayaking. For awhile I had worked up to walking ten miles a day two times a week. That’s a four hour walk, two times a week. With two or three days of 1-2 hour walks. I was putting in the effort, tracking meals, carbs, calories, etc. just to maintain my weight. As soon as I let up, the pounds came on.

If you have time left before surgery, research lapband success rate. I would strongly suggest a different type of surgery.

it's hard to find a surgeon these days who'll place one. Too many people had too many issues with them - it seems like a lot of people have had them removed.

Elless, have you considered a revision? My story is the same as yours (lap band didn't help me lose weight at all, only lost 20 pounds in 6 months, regained it quickly and then gained extra weight) except I resorted to slider foods after I realized the lap band wasn't helping at all. I revised to RNY and I've lost 43 pounds in less than 2 months. It's a total game changer and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Skinny3, if you have 100 or more pounds to lose I'd definitely look into gastric bypass!!! It's not what it used to me. About a decade ago (and before) it was an open surgery with more risks but now it's done laproscopically. Definitely recommend it.

      Pre-op Liquid Diet - Day 1
Had my morning cup of 8 oz Regular Orange Juice. I am ready!!! I did have 3 bites of my fiance's cheesecake last night for dinner. It was so yummy but with my former sleeve it didn't allow me any more bites.

      SKINNY SZN HERE WE COME!!!!

It's Saturday!!! My fiance and I are out doing yard work and I made the mistake of not staying hydrated before going out so now my body is shaking and weak. I have my pre-op appointment Tuesday, the 2nd and I am trying my hardest to lose another 2 lbs by then.

Looking for new sleeve buddies! I’m 1.5 weeks post op and things seem to be getting a little difficult! I actually WANT food again eghh! Honestly, I feel like you don’t truly understand this process unless you go through it! Don’t be shy, say hello and let’s support each other during this journey 🙂
