vitamin patches work for some but not others. I've never tried them since I'm afraid I'd be one of the people they won't work for; however, I've considered getting some to take on trips so I won't have to lug a bunch of vitamin bottles with me. Even if I'm one of the unfortunate ones they don't really work for, a week or two is not going to do much (if any) harm. But some people do swear by them and use them all the time.

protein shakes: people's tastes are all over the board. I love Syntrax powders. Some people don't. A lot of people like ready-to-drink Premier Protein shakes. I can't stand them. The best thing to do, if possible, is get a bunch of samples of different brands to see which ones you like. There are some sampler packets on BariatricPal's store, I believe. Then you won't waste a lot of money paying $30 or $40 for a big tub of something that you end up not liking.
