a very serious case of white-boy dancing, but the music is pretty good. So far "Surf's up Tonight" is my fav.

[ame=http://youtube.com/watch?v=rMCKqRUknSg&feature=user]YouTube - Midnight Oil - Power and the Passion[/ame]

How did a young'un your age even hear of Midnight Oil?? I have a nephew almost that age and I doubt they're anywhere near his radar....

You're just discovering them now? Peter Garrett is an old and crusty politician now, roflmao!

They were SERIOUSLY great. Especially before they really hit the big time and were a pub band.

Do me a favour and seek out Cold Chisel too. Might be harder, less successful in the US but a truly iconic Aussie band. I could never ever ever ever get sick of Chisels. Khe Sanh should be our national anthem.

That's hysterical! I bet Peter Garrett makes a fine crusty old politician...

I dig Cold Chisel.... Haven't heard much from them, though. I'll have to do some searching later...

Augie March is a current Aussie band that is starting to gain some popularity back home and overseas. Their biggest selling single is 'One crowded hour'.

I remember being very young and very drunk and singing Khe Sanh at the top of my voice with some new found best friends on a flight from Sydney to LA. I am so glad I stopped drinking!! ;)

Loved Midnight Oil in the 80's, didn't realize they were still making music.

Something new to look up!! Yea!!

Damn sometimes being in the USA we can be so sheltered from some really good talent. Ticks me off.

I'm mostly into

Europop/dance/trance/club kind of stuff which is REALLY hard to keep up on in the midwest where all your radio stations are country or rap.

One of my favorite bands atm is from Sweden is E-type E-type - official website

If it wasn't for the internet I would musicly starve to death.

Telecia - my husband is from Sweden. That kind of music is ALL he listens to (and he's a hardcore audiophile). Well, 98% of what he listens to. :)
