Upper right part of back

Has anyone experienced significant pain in upper right part of the back, the pain is sharp and when I walk it gets more stiff and uncomfortable. I am a week after surgery.

It's probably gas. I had gas pains far later than I thought I would. It was almost in that exact spot! I ended up taking my last pain pill one night and going to bed early to sleep it off. It was gone the next day.

That being said, if it persists call your doctor.

Thanks, did you take something for the gas? The doctor did not think it was gas...

No. I did not. I just remember thinking what in the heck is this new pain?? And taking a pain pill. I say it was gas (based on everything I've read here) but since it went away the next day, I never discussed it with my doctor. What did your doctor say it was?

Doctor said to take pain meds, doesn’t seem to work....I saw them on Tuesday going to try to see them again today as this is not normal

Good luck! I hope it gets better!

I have noticed that I "guard" my belly and have had some back muscle aches from remaining tense. but tylenol helps those as well as repositioning. Hope you feel better

This happened to me last night! Right behind the incision where they (ew) pulled out my stomach, which is the worst of the lot when accidentally bending. I put some Aspercreme because I wonder if it's my muscles - I somewhat over did it yesterday panic cleaning for a houseguest.

Hopefully it will just dissipate for both of us!
