The best advice I have, is to go into your surgery super duper hydrated, like drink over a gallon a day before. And do your walking as soon as you can. It helps move the gas and helps the muscles heal

  • Thank you so much With both replies feeling hopeful now Definitely going to my best shot Wish you are coping well after surgery

The best advice I have, is to go into your surgery super duper hydrated, like drink over a gallon a day before. And do your walking as soon as you can. It helps move the gas and helps the muscles heal. Don't be a hero and take the pain meds if you need, but make sure you stay hydrated. That's paramount to everything else. It's really not scary, you'll do great!

You'll do great! I had my surgery in the beginning of January and I too was scared. It was actually my first surgery as well and I was terrified to be put under. The surgery is the easy part. You take the best nap and when you wake up, its done! The uncomfortable part is the gas pains when waking up. They fill you with so much gas during the procedure but as soon as you are able to start walking about even just sitting up and getting the gas out and those pains will go away. I wish you luck!
