Fluctuating Emotions Pre-Op?

So I'm noticing (and I haven't had a period in like... three years, so I doubt/don't know if that may be the cause of it) that I'm experiencing a lot of really hard emotions right now. I've been getting angry at everything and crying at the drop of a hat.

Has anyone else dealt with this? I've got like... six days left before surgery. I'm not nervous about it (not that I'm aware of), but somethings gotta be going on, right?

Well, I had wildly fluctuating emotions before surgery that were all about being nervous about the surgery, ranging from excited to terrified. I was so nervous on the day of the surgery that I almost called it off just before I was being wheeled into the operating room.

I'm guessing that your emotions do have a lot to do with your upcoming surgery, even if you say you are not nervous. You should also be aware that there will be lots of ups and downs after surgery as well. That's where this forum can be really useful, because you'll learn that what you are going through is not unique.

I started seeing my Therapist again in either October or November so that I would be able to have a safe place to share my range of varying emotions. These emotions and feelings can have extreme highs and lows, I want to truly address whatever issues are going to surface and not mask anything during this rodeo.
