My father had a heart attack back in Canada and my surgery is in a week.

He has a history of heart disease and has had many heart attacks plus a quadruple bypass, but this is the first heart stack in a decade that was bad enough to fire off the defibrillator unit in his chest.

I don't know if I even have the option to move my surgery date or what to do.

So sorry to hear this. Call your surgeon's office and talk to his office assistant/nurse. I'm sure you can reschedule. I hope your dad continues to improve. I'm sorry you are experiencing this!! ((hugs))

Thanks. He's getting out of the hospital soon. I have until this coming Friday to postpone my surgery a few weeks if needed.
