Pre-op diet queston

I have a question about pre op diets. The one I am on is a Slim-slow for breakfast and lunch, and a lean cuisine meal for dinner. I can also have some sugar free jello in there. I am tired of the sweets! Y'all think it would be ok for me to have some chicken broth? I just want something warm and savory on my tastebuds!

I was allowed to have broth. Actually, I was allowed to have any liquid that was smooth, low cal, sugar-free and very low fat. The fat and sugar were the two things that my doc needed me to avoid to help with the whole liver shrinkage thing! But, if you are in doubt maybe you better ask your doctor.

Like LapBandit, I was permitted liquids, cottage cheese, yogurt, and sugar free popsicles and fudgsicles.

The biggest thing I was NOT permitted to have was SUGAR. (So I could deplete my glycogen stores and shrink my liver to make surgery easier).

But best to check with your Bariatric Center for your answers...
