Black Pepper?

Hi everyone,

I was told that I couldn't have black pepper two weeks prior to surgery. I start my pre-op diet on Monday so I ordered some bone broth. After I already ordered the broth, I noticed in the ingredients it lists black pepper.

Does anyone know why we can't have black pepper? Or has anyone had black pepper with no problems?

I'd like to find out what others did prior to surgery!
