Flying so soon after surgery

Hello

I’m having my gastric sleeve done in Mexico on March 1st and I am nervous about flying so soon after surgery. It will be only 3 days after surgery that I will be on a plane for 5 hours.

I was hoping to hear any tips or stories of how it went for anyone who traveled by air so soon.

Thank you.

I will be in the same situation as you but my surgery is in April. I’m thinking of getting up a few times and walking back to the bathroom just to stretch. I know my doc recommends compression socks for some patients. Who are you going to?

Hi MartyKay. I am going to Dr
Alvarez at Endobariatric, just across the border at San Antonio. The compression socks are a good idea.
