Obesity Goodbye in TJ, HELP!!!

I need some quick info!

I have a friend who was just banded at this place and it sounds like she was being tortured alive!!!

First of all, she said they filled her band up with Fluid??????

When she complained of the pain, they blamed her own low dose meds????

They then proceeded to unfill her, bending 4 needles into her stomach???

What the **** is going on!!!!!!

I told her I have never, ever heard of a patient being sent home with a fill. They also didn't want her to stay overnight another night in the hosptial and wanted to send her back to her hotel room???

They wouldn't give her an IV and didn't kill the pain!!!

Who are these people?

I have never heard of such a thing??

What do you guys think and what should she do?

I told her she needs to get an unfill and NOT leave until she gets one!

She has major pain in her chest. I told her that is what feeling stuck is like.

Any advice and feedback is appreciated!!

Audree

One of the new bands out is a bit different and it does have a fill placed during surgery unlike other bands. However, it is a larger band and the fill (from what I understand) is necessary to get the band to fit around the stomach.

Which band did she get?

Has she had a barium swallow? That will tell if it is too tight or if she is having standard post op pain.

Thank you so much for your response.

She is a lower bmi.

I checked the PM.

Please let me know if I can give her your info.

Thanks!

these guys are professionals...I use them for fills....My friend just got banded and she is a medical PA and loved them she was a pervious banded paitent and got a revision by them with the french band which has a bit of a fill right off the bat......I have had 5 fills with them and they use floroscope and get it right first time everytime......they would NEVER bend needles.....Her pain management was spot on.......I don't believe this....no way

Hopefully your friend is out of pain. Let us know how she is doing. Sounds like she had a rough time.

She is finally home and doing well.

I don't know why she had such a bad experience, but neither of us have any reason to lie about it.

I was the one she was calling crying on the phone.

She wasn't making it up.

Sorry if anyone thinks it is untrue, but I have been here a long time and people know how I am.

I have no hidden motives to bash a doctor.

Thanks Sunshine!! She is recovering.

I have no doubt your friend had pain surgery is harder for some than others....I have been there many times and my friend who is a medical professional had a band revision this past month raved about the service...Even Dr Verboonen has a band himself........I just hate to see a place that does such good service and great follow up get raked..........Pain meds in Mexico are very good and in all my fills there I have never had anything but one needle used and Dr Eulices Frayre MD is probably one of the best fill Dr's around ( sorry font changed.) Ask your friend again if it was really that bad or does she just not tolerate surgery well...If her story sticks and it may I would be truly shocked
