Hello, I'm being told so many different things about taking headache meds. Can anyone tell me what's the best thing to take?

Hi there, in my booklet that my team gave me stated nothing with aspirin or aleeve they do recommend Tylenol so that’s all I take since having surgery...it is confusing though, everyone says something different. Hope that helps ?

Aspirin thins your blood and could cause internal bleeding.

It depends how far out from surgery you are. You can't take NSAIDs (most over the counter pain meds) a week before surgery. Tylenol (acetaminophen) is fine. The others are hard on your stomach and interact badly with blood thinners.

If you go RNY, you actually can't ever have NSAIDs again. If you go VSG (sleeve), you eventually can, but different surgeons clear you at different points in the process.

Ask your surgeon and go by his recordation only.
