Back and banded!

Well I got the lap band I have been waiting for on Nov. 1st. I was in quite a bit of pain at first but I feel really good today. So much so that a little bit of my appetite is coming back and I don't like that.

I lost 9 lbs. on the 2 week pre op diet and have lost another 11 lbs. since surgery. I have had a LOT of restriction and absolutely no appetite until today. I still have one more week of Optifast and then one week of TrePuree meals. I don't know how I'm gonna do it. I am getting really tired of the shakes although it's really exciting seeing the weight come off.

I am trying to hang in there. Dieting can be quite hard on the nerves and I am going to start taking Wellbutrin tomorrow in the hopes that it alleviates some of the anxiety and depression.

starry - Congrats on the band! Yeah, dieting is rough, I know! I know you can make it, though. Keep up the good work! 20 lbs is awesome!

Hi Starryeyed, I was banded the same day as you. I have been on protein shakes, clear soup and juice mostly but yesterday and today had some jelly and light custard (a nice change) and when i spoke to the nurse today she said I can have thicker soups now, as long as they are blended. Are you at that stage yet? I must say I haven't been feeling hungry yet. Is it real hunger or head hunger do you think?
