Anyone gone to a Chiropractor??

Well, here I am almost one month post-op and I suddenly began getting headaches in the late afternoon. Then I realized I've been waking up with neck pain and it's been cracking a lot.

What this usually means for me is that it is time to see the Chiropractor for an adjustment. Has anyone gone this soon? Has it affected anything with the Band??

I made an appointment for Wednesday afternoon but could cancel if it's not wise...:(

I went to my chiropractor at 3 weeks, which was his recommended interval when he learned that I was being banded. As long as he/she knows about the surgery I can't imagine that it would be a problem, but you can always check it out with the nurse at the surgeon's office.

I just go for lumbar decompression therapy (aka "the rack"). I was careful because it involves a wide, tight-fitting belt around the waist.

I go to the chriropractor now, I have no problems and get everything done that I did before. I recenly had a car accident and I have to go 3 times a week to help with the whiplash. I am now back to once a few weeks and doing great! :(

GOOD LUCK!

I went to my chiropractor 8 days after being banded. He doesn't do anything as drastic sounding as "the rack". In fact never heard of it here in Aus, but I had no problems at all. he just didn't adjust me from lying on my stomach - just lying on my back and side and then did my neck whilst sitting up. Didn't affect me at all so as long as he knows you've been banded then I wouldn't think it would be a problem.

Thanks everyone, so much! Now I feel more confident about going and I will keep that appointment!

After I posted this thread, I DID call my Bariatric Center and they said to make sure the chiropractor was aware of the Band, but they are perfectly okay with me going.

Thanks again (and no, I've never heard of the "Rack" before either--whoa!!) :D

My Chiropractor actually visited me on day 3 of my recovery in my house and adjusted me as I had developed a killer headache and my neck was locked...came back the next day and did it again !!....no problems whatsoever...
