Be careful you don’t want to get dehydrated. Some people get lactose intolerant after it I couldn’t do shakes after mine. Maybe call your clinic it could be dangerous if you get dehydrated.

After surgery I became lactose intolerant. Anytime I consumed dairy, it quickly led to an upset stomach and diarrhea. I cut out the dairy and the problem went away. A word of caution. Some protein shakes contain dairy. After around two months my lactose intolerance went away and I was back to normal.

I had the same issue. I cut it out for a few weeks and then was able to add it back in with some success. I can’t have too much (yogurt is right out but cottage cheese is okay). The reality is I just can’t eat that much anyway as opposed to my pre surgery dairy trigger and so I just don’t get the reaction. Unless of course I drink a protein shake /water that is whey based.

I had a swallow test day 1 post- op, and I think that contributed to my diarrhea. It’s easing up (day 3 post op) and I’m doing better keeping things in and keeping up with water.

I had diarrhea starting on day 2, I believe and it lasted 2 or 3 days. I'm not sure what caused it, but it didn't last too long. Hopefully yours doesn't either.
