I was in the Gap today and decided to try on some size 16 pants just to see how far I had to go. Well, they closed and I wasn't in pain! They didn't look good but the last time I came close to fitting into that size I was about 18 -20 lbs lighter and that was 6+ years ago.

Yeah...some bigger sizes are now getting "vanity" sizes (one to two sizes smaller). I don't mind tho :confused:

not complaining either in 10lbs i will fit easily into most "regular" size stores!

Oh, they have. Last time I was this weight, no way was I in a size 14 Australian, bordering on a 12. I was a good 16.

of course, I run lots now and am smaller at the same weight because of that, but I still think sizes are bigger now than they were.

All I care about is that I never have to go into a plus size store again.

I don't recall there ever being a size 0 or 1 when i was younger,seems like size 5 was the smallest. I think they have adjusted the sizes over the years.

thank god they have- I now can shop places other than lane giant!

(agreed about the change- no way could I fit into size 14/16's at this weight 15 years ago)
