NJ November Thread

Good mornin' Everybody!

I hope ya'll don't mind me starting a NJ November thread. I didn't know if there was a protocol in place since you guys have been together for so long! LOL!

Yesterday (1st day banded) really wasn't too bad at all. No sore throat or chapped lips from the breathing tube, that was great. More discomfort than pain, except when I tried to get in or out of bed. Our bed is one of those temperPedic mattresses, which basically means your hand sinks into the bed whenever you try to use it to push-off (making it tough). Think I'll stick to chairs today :)

Jessica, everybody is of course, different....but for me it really has not been bad (knocking on wooden head). Unless it's gonnna sneak up on me I havn't had any of those shoulder gas pains I've read about. But there sure is a lot of rumbling in the tummy......it's probably still trying to recover from all the smell in the October thread: red candy apples, caramel apples, Cookies galore, stuffed jalapenos!

Chrissie how was the date? Great I hope. Sounded like a nice comfortable way to spend it.

Pat thanks so much for letting folks know how things went for me. At the time I was just feeling a little too nauseous to post. They gave me some Dilaudid (sounds like delotta) and I think thats what made me queasy.

Cindy & Mandy you guys deserve a big hand for all that you did to make a happy time for all the children. Today you breathe a little, I hope! Mandy, Awesome Jack-O-Lanterns!!!!

Hey Betty, Can you believe somebody's actually UP at this hour?!!!! LOL! Been laying around since the surgery yesterday morn. now I can't sleep! I notice where you were the first one up in the October thread ;)

Kat, hope your house is still in one piece, after grandson's visit! :D

Sherry, you're right about the protien shakes. I knew they were'nt gonna be great, so my first day banded was my first taste, ugh....I sprinkled a little cinnamon on top so I could smell & taste that a little. It sorta helped.

Hey Jess, see you in bandland on Tuesday :)

I can't believe I'm actually thinking of doing some Christmas shopping saturday. It's been a thing with me to take off on my birthday to do that. I thought I'd be out of commission, but I don't feel too bad :clap2:

Have a great day everybody!!!!

Good Morning Y'all!

Just dropping in to say "hello" as I have not even got in the shower yet.

Anne - We were worried about you, it is so good to hear from you.

Don't stay away so long anymore!

I'll catch you all later!

ANNE WHO, LOL, hey girl welcome back, all we care is that you're back, woohoo! Hope you're well, I've been back in circulation for a couple of months and I'm glad I came back :).

Hugs all around.

hi ladies

ok i am doing ok so far but my one problem is that i have been a bit nauseous. i have not vomitted yet but i feel like i have been close. is there something that i am doing wrong??? I am trying to get my liquids in but its hard im afraid of throwing up

Hi Jessica, I don't think you're doing anything wrong if you are taking little baby sips. Hydration,as you already know is soooooo important. But I felt so nauseous too (at about the same timeline as you). My doctor had prescribed pain meds and med for nausea. I did use it once.

Anything you have a question or concern about, just call the Drs. office. Not only are they used to it, but they are usually very helpful and informed. It'll rest your fears too (if you have any).

Take care and let us know how things are going when you can :)

Welcome back home, Anne! It's so great to see you here again!

Congratulations, Jessica! Welcome to Bandland! It seems rough at first, but it DOES get easier!

Sorry Abi is sick, Mandy...is she any better? Haven was sick for about 5 days, but she's okay now...just every now and then, she still gets into some coughing.

I subbed one day this week, and the last two days I made mini-muffins for the Grandparent's Tea that is coming up a week from Friday. Tomorrow I'm going to get new tires for my car, and THAT's exciting, right? Yeah.

Haven's having a friend spend the night tomorrow. They're going to make their own pizzas, watch a movie or two...the next day we're going to the mall to play lunar mini golf. That should keep them busy enough and having plenty of fun!

I guess that's about it for me...hugs to all!

Cindy

No Cindy, Abi isn't better. She is still coughing her poor little head off, and she's pissed that I won't let her go outside for recess.

I am having major problems with her at school right now too. Say a prayer for us both. Me for my sanity and her that she survives the weekend. She admitted tonight that she wasn't paying attention in class today and that is why she is lost with her math problems. Is it normal for 1st graders to be learning 3 number addition problems already? They also read a story in class together and then are supposed to come home and read it again. Well she looked at tonights story like it was in a forgein language. I guess she had spaced out for that today too. The psych put her an adderel (sp?) and it's not helping, so tonight he upped the dose. We start the new does tomorrow morning.

On a more positive note, I like my new job. The kids are pretty good for the most part. It's not hard, the hours work with Abi's schedual and the pay is decent.

I'm off to bed. I'll check in tomorrow.

Oh and Jessica, I would call the doc if the sick feeling isn't gone by morning. They can give you phenegran or zofran and you will feel much better. ~Mandy

Mandy, sorry Abi's having it tough in school lately. Maybe it's being sick? I know when I feel under the weather and I go into work, I have to constantly force my brain to focus and, if I'm really sick, it just won't comprehend much. Hopefully that's just it. Tell Abi I said hi, she's such a sweetie!

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Jessica.....Are you still taking your pain meds? Reason for asking...mine made me sick to my stomach after a while. I had to switch to liquid Tylenol. If you're still taking yours maybe you need to back off from it and switch to something a little easier. I found the liquid prescription they gave me too strong for an almost empty stomach due to the liquid restrictions.

Anybody here had or have or know of Dr. Wasser ?? Rancocas Medical ??

Most of the people on this thread are not from Jersey. There are a few, but most of us are from other places. You can do a search for the doctors name, and see if there are any posts about him/her. ~Mandy

Hello Y'all!

Well, I worked in the new job and it certainly is challenging. I am at the same place, just a different position. I still have tons of stuff to learn, but I really do like it. I am just too busy to think right now, and the last thing I want to do is be on a computer after all the stuff I am learning on one! lol

I got my grocery shopping done, but haven't done anything else today. I can't get in the mood to get busy. My house needs to be cleaned up as well as the outside! Heck, we have leaves that need to be swept up, but I just keep looking at them! lol Although, I did clean the toilets! tee hee!

Eileen - I'll take your daughter for you to class! I want to see too!

I will be cooking some things and taking them to DB house again this year. I usually cook a meal for here too, but I don't know if I will do as much this year. I keep wondering why I do all that cooking/baking and can't even enjoy all of it. So, what will I do? Probably do it anyway, I always do. Just kick me in the a$$!

Have fun at the party!

Jessica - Hope you are feeling better today!

Mandy - How is Abi today? Hope she is feeling better!

Pat - Did you get a new boat? OK, fill me in on what I missed!

Sherry - Your new toy sounds like fun, but I am not the kind of person that would keep it up. Just like all my other w/l stuff, it would end up in a corner.

Chrispy - How is the new beau doing? Hope he is the "one".

Anne - So, let us know what has been going on with you!

Cindy - How did the pizza's turn out, or was that tonight? Gosh, my brain isn't working!

Kat - Where you at? I miss your posts!

Well, going to get off here and see if I can look at stuff to be done some more! lol

The bad part is it will all be looking at me tomorrow if I don't do it today.

Later!
