Hey Sleevers. Anyone still experiencing hoarseness of the throat??? Since my surgery on 4/3 my voice is very hoarse and breathy. How long does this last? I'm scared it may be permanent

My surgery was on 4/4 and my voice was definitely strained, but it got better a few days ago. Good luck!

Remember you had a breathing tube down your throat and in to your trachea, probably,scraped or irritated,your goal cords a little. I'm sure you'll get all better soon. In the meantime rock,your husky bedroom-type voice.[emoji14]

I agree. As a theatre nurse the throat use is dry and irritating. Some people get extra affected by the side effects. It will pass[emoji846]

It should clear up soon. Whether you got sleeved or bypassed, you get intubated during surgery. This is often the cause of the hoarseness. I was hoarse for about a week.

They kept the oxygen on me the whole time I was in there, and it wasn't humidified, so I was sooooooo dried out and froggy for days afterward. It'll go away.
