Has anyone been sent home with an SCD? My doctor's office gave me a sequential compression device to take home at my pre-op appointment. The nurse said once I'm home from the hospital after surgery, I should keep them on my legs while I'm sitting down. I thought if I got up and walked around enough, something like this would be unnecessary. But I had to take it home and promise to use it. Anyone else??

This past Monday, my pre-op nurse mentioned they would put these on my legs the day of surgery. My surgery is scheduled for this Wednesday and I guess I will find out then if I will have them when I come home. When is your surgery scheduled for?

My surgery is Wednesday too!

I had those on my legs from the time I entered the OR till the following morning. After that I was on blood thinners the rest of the time I was in the hospital. I did not have to take them home with me, no. I guess my risk of a blood clot wasn’t that high.
