Can someone tell me when this killer (gas) shoulder pain will finally go away. I’m 3 weeks post op

Did you happen to have a hiatal hernia repaired with your sleeve? I had miserable shoulder pain, too...and found out that it is deferred pain from the hernia repair. Liquid tylenol helps, and I promise it eventually goes away.

Mine went away sometime in week 3. It was pain from the diaphragm, so I still feel it a little if I eat too much.

He said nothing to me about a hernia. Everything else is bearable. I am also having some left flank muscle spasms.

You still have it?? Wow! I don’t know how you’re functioning. I had it for three days and called my surgeon in tears! Heating pad, hot showers directly on shoulder, pain pills, and gas drops helped me. On day 4, the pain was gone.

I have been doing all those things and I let him know on my 2 week post op and he said it was normal

Try using a heating pad on shoulder. The heating pad really helped with the gas pains as well as walking a lot.

Definitely call your surgeon. It can also be a sign of a leak if it persists. Hopefully nothing serious, but best to check.

I’m an icu nurse so I’m am 98% sure it it gas pain. Also about an hour ago I felt the gas flop and a little relief. It almost feels like pleurisy which is incredibly painful
