Anybody need a vena cava filter?

Hi,

I went for a consultation with the lap band surgeon. Since my BMI is slightly over 50, he wants a vascular surgeon to insert a vena cava filter two weeks before my surgery so I won't have the risk of a blood clot traveling to my heart post surgery. Has anyone else had this done? What was the procedure like? I'm going for a consultation for the filter next week.
