Day 8

I know everyones doctor nutritionist is different but I feel like im healing well handling everything that goes down well when exactly do you start introducing other things besides shakes? For instance Farina? Not to replace shakes but during the day. My guess is after week 2 but of course u read online everyones different.

I've just started full liquids on day 4 but the suggestion is to just do shakes the first week and then the second week I can introduce other things: no-sugar yogurt, no-sugar pudding, high-protein soup, strained cream soup. I'd guess farina would be the mushy stage at the soonest . . .though it's not listed on my recommendations. The soonest grains are listed is for the maintenance phase!

The type of surgery you have probably plays a part, but I had two weeks of liquid, then two weeks of puree, then two weeks of soft diet, then regular diet. However, grains aren't recommended initially because you'll get full before you are able to get any protein in.
