Nausea - when will it go away?

I am 16 days post RNY. I am doing well, but having severe nausea every few days. I'm scheduled to return to work Monday, but I worry about feeling this ill. Does the nausea go away, or will I continue to have these bad episodes?

Surgery Weight: 218

Current Weight: 205

Me too. I had to get a nausea shot and more nausea pills to take.

You might need medication for a short term to stop the nausea. From my experience I was very nauseated the first 3 days and had to go on medication and it cleared up in a day. After that no issue just occasional Nausea. I find peppermint tea a big help.

I am now 28 days post-op and the nausea is worse. I have been re-admitted twice and DON'T want that to happen again if I can help it! I have been put back on liquids so hopefully that helps. The nausea meds really don't work for me. I am battling discouragement.

So sorry to hear! Hopefully in a few days as your stomach calms down so will the nausea. I was on an IV for a day the Drs said they were bringing out the tough meds - had no idea what it was but stopped the nausea and then I took a pill daily for 3 months.

Try and get the protein shakes in I used premier protein ready made shakes. Don't rush solids.

I still have peppermint tea at times to help when queasy.
