Hi my name is Jessica. I am 30 years old and I have been investigating the lap band for two and a half years. I wanted to have it done but the insurance denied me because of an exclusion in my benefits. I finally had lab band surgery in August 2007,self pay:clap2:. I had to make it affordable because I knew I was headed down a very lonely road. Before surgery I weighed in at my physicians office 349. It's October and I am down to 300!!! I am so happy I got the band. I have realized all the bad habits I have acquired through the years and I am trying to correct them one at a time. I would have never made it as far as I have without this website. It has been so inspiring to me....I know a lot of people may not say it but the pictures of people who have had the surgery are so uplifting, it continously is giving me hope. I know I am on my way but I am doing a lot of learning as I go. Good luck to everyone out there who is on the website! You have all been an inspiration to me!
