Are there any other bariatric patients that also have fibromyalgia? My surgery was May 1, 2017 and I am struggling with the pain. When I had the revision surgery from band to sleeve I knew there was a good chance I would take a little longer to recover. I was in the hospital three days. Since the surgery I have lost 15 pounds. I realize each individual's journey is different as are our medical conditions. I have ended up in a infusion center 4 times had to go back into the hospital May 17 for another three days because we could not control the pain and dehydration. And then to top it off The day before Labor Day we were in a car accident. I have been going to physical therapy to hopefully help with the pain since the surgery but I am unable to add much exercise. In fact my physical therapist discourages me from doing some of the exercises I enjoy. On Pleasant days I do try to get in the pool for at least 25 to 30 minutes and swim or even just tread Water. It doesn't seem to cause the pain I get from a simple walk to the mailbox. However, my weight loss hasn't moved since May 17. My doctor has not yet given me my macros however I've been tracking them and noticed I tend to eat around 500 cal my carbs seem to stay under 10 and my Protein ranges from 65-80. I also have hypothyroid, hypertension, depression, obstructive sleep apnea and Aniexty. I will see my doctor next week and inquire is it the lack of exercise at this time, medications etc. or am I just expecting more weight loss then is reasonable. I will admit like many I fight the water bottle it is very hard to get the amount in that I should be taking. It is not that I don't like the taste it's just that I never was a drinker, So it is a serious effort to remember to stop and have a drink. I hate Powerade zero but I did pick up some drops that are supposed to make your drink more like a sports drink and offer more hydration. I can't tell that it's really doing anything. I would love to hear other fibromyalgia stories, tips you have learned along the way, anything you could share to help me along this weight-loss journey would be so greatly appreciated.

Hi jadeskys, I have Fibromylgia also plus Psoriasis arthritis and Osto arthritis. I know tat you proablly have been told that exercise is the key to helping us with our Fibro. I got so tired of hearing that but...now I know it is true!! My pain isn't gone by no means but man o mighty has it got better!! You are early out from your WLS. You need to just push yourself to get in your fluids as you already know from being in the hospital. My Suregon always told me that fluids and the Protein is what we need to concentrate on. The protein helps with healing and it doesn't take long to get dehydrated for sure. Your post sounds like mine. LOL I do still have some problems with my Blood pressure but I am so much better. I use to take 12 different medication. I was so insulin resistant I couldn't get my blood sugars under control I was on 100units of Levermire 2 times a day plus 500mg of Meteformin 2 times a day. I am off all diabetes meds, I take 4 precriptions now. Of course my Vitamins. Here are my STATS: HW 249# (I had lost from 285#'s before my WLS) SW 232 LW 117# CW 125 I lost down to my lowest of 117#s which means I had lost 132#'s but I did gain 8#'s back. Which is and was totally ok with myself and my DR. Just KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE PRIZE keep doing everything your Surgeon 's guidelines and it will work out. I hope you can get to feeling beter so you can do more and this will help with your FIBRO, depression and anxity. I have so many illness like you. depresson, fibro, high blood pressure, anxiety, and panic attacks BTW your Wl is good. You are just 1 day shy of being a month. When have you been able to lose weigght and keep it off? If you are like myself, I have lost 100's of #'s over and over again. Hang tight you will get there. This is a journey not a quick fix. Hugs you've got this!!!

I have Fibro as well it is better with all this weight off of me. I only took Aleve, the meds that they precribed did not work well for me. I would hate the flare ups because my pain was awful but I'm pretty good now. Also have arthritis that too has subsided some, not gone but better. Remember the surgery is only a tool. It's up to you to do the rest.

Best of luck you got this. We all do!

I saw my rheum. this morning. We just lowered my Lyrica -- from 100 x2 to 75 x2, and we might be able to take it down to 50 x2 next month! The more weight I take off, the easier it is on my body so far. It doesn't take the zapping away (I had shingles three times (once on my head), think it might have triggered that part - the zapping in one spot on my head)..but my tender spots, some aren't as tender! He says with less pressure/swelling inside my body, it's probably helping. He suspects when I get below 200 (30 pounds away) I'll see another big improvement.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
