That's a fairly common practice; we just don't hear much about it on these forums because there isn't as much to complain about as there is with the longer pre-op diets, particularly the all-liquid ones which generate a lot of online traffic!

You are lucky. I mean I am offered the ability to have non-starchy vegetables up until 72 hours before and that is it. I am able to have salads but it has limited ingredients. Mainly the only liquid diets are the hardest to pull off. I will see if I will be able to handle this without the vegetables and only the liquid.

My surgeon had me on a 2 week pre-op diet where I was able to continue eating food.

I remember I could have very low carbs.... I would usually do a protein shake for breakfast and then I was allowed lean meat (I always did chicken) for lunch and dinner along with a small salad or non-starchy veggies. If I remember, the meat portion at lunch and dinner was about 3 oz.

Then the day before surgery, I was on all clear liquids (no protein shakes).

Everybody's plan is a little different, some require a 2-week all liquid pre op diet... others don't.

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery.... wish you the best!

I was clear liquid only for 2 days pre-op. Wasn't bad at all. Isopure makes several clear drinks. The protein helped ward off hunger during those two days
