  1. Hi LeeLee. My name is Paula. I am 63 y/o, and had my gastric bypass on April 5, 2017. I have some problems with vomiting. When I do I go back to the liquid diet for 24 to 48 hours. Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, applesauce, protein drinks, and water. It always helps.
  2. CONGRATULATIONS!! This is your new life Birthday.
  3. Remember all the work you did getting here. Congratulations!! I am 3 weeks out and 26 lbs down .
  4. RJ, you will do fine. The closer it got for me the lesser the excitement and the more scared I was. When it was overall the excitement came back.
  5. Glad you were able to get your hernia repaired during your weight loss surgery.
  6. I am doing well with most things. Though the clear and full liquid stage i had uncontrolled diarrhea. I have been on soft foods for 3 days now and my stools are firming up. I have found 1 egg fills my new stomach up.

  15. The infection nor the pneumonia is related to my surgery. I am using an Insentive spirometer to expand my lungs.
  16. April the 5 I had the gadtric bypass.my age is 63 and my weight is 251 lbs. I awakened in the recovery room in severe pain. The morpine eased the pain the most. Then 5 hours later my pain changes to a soreness. Feels like i just did 500 abdominal crunches. And continues to this way for the next 5 days. I watched my blood presure and blood sugar drop several times a day. Taking no pre-surgery routine medications. Only needing pain med two times a day. Noticed on Sunday April 9th, that i was feeling out of air with any activity. Increse in sleeping throughout the day. On Monday morning I awakrned at 3:30am with a low blood sugar and a temperature. Continued to feel airless all day, temp was up and down. Around 6:00pm on Monday. I decided to check into the Emergency Department. Lot of tests. And my diagnosis is pneaumonia and an infection in my leg. Been back in the hospital for 3 days. Ecpected discharge date is Saturday, April 15.
  17. Had my surgery this morning at 730a. Had lots of level 9 pain at first. Then i got a Morphine injection. Finally pain is a 2. Morphine works better for me than the Fentanyl. Thr pain now feels like i have either been coughing or have been doing a lot of abdominal exercises. I have to stay 2 nights because i have severe sleep apnea and had some breathing pauses in recovery. Glad i brought my c pap with me. Then tonight i went to sleep snd one of my incisions started bleeding. The nurse reinforced with a new dressing. And i went for a walk while the staff changed my linen. Back to sleep soon.
